Your new companyHays Recruitment are proud to be supporting an SEN secondary school in Winsford as they are looking to appoint a number of teaching assistants to support pupils across KS3 and KS4 with their attainment needs by holding intervention and booster sessions in core subjects. This is a full-time temporary position within an academic SEN high school. All pupils are on EHCP's and have high capacity.Your new roleAs a teaching assistant within this school, you will support all pupils across KS3 and KS4. Your main responsibility will be to offer intervention and booster sessions in core subjects on a group basis. As you will be working across the whole school, you will liaise with class teachers to ensure that all sessions are in line with pupils' attainment needs and EHCPs. You will be supporting pupils with SEN, but all pupils are high functioning and working in line with the KS3 and KS4 national curriculum. As well as offering group sessions, you will at times be required to assist with full class and 1:1 support, working under the instruction of the class teacher to offer a stimulating and engaging learning environment.What you'll need to succeedTo be considered in your application, you must have full "Right to Work" in the UK as well as a minimum of 40 days referenceable experience supporting KS3 and KS4 aged pupils as well as:

  • Experience offering intervention and booster sessions
  • Experience assisting with GCSE preparation and mock exams
  • An NVQ Level 2 Supporting Teaching and Learning qualification is advantageous but not essential
