Our client, a Cheshire Police, are seeking a dynamic Secretary to join their team in Winsford for a temporary contract of 6 months. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a professional environment while supporting senior members of staff!

Role Overview:As a Secretary, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of administrative functions within the team. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing Multiple Accounts: Handle day-to-day management of emails, diaries, and appointments to ensure important matters are prioritised.
  • Documentation Production: Prepare correspondence, presentations, agendas, and meeting minutes with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Meeting Attendance: Attend meetings and briefings to take minutes and action items, demonstrating your excellent note-taking skills.
  • Team Resilience: Provide support to peers to ensure continuity of a professional secretarial service.
  • Case Management: Efficiently action, update, and close requests received through the Case Management Tool.
  • Organised Filing System: Maintain an efficient filing system for easy document retrieval.
  • Administrative Support: Assist Staff Officers with their force or national portfolios, showcasing your versatility and adaptability.
  • Flexible Attendance: Occasionally attend meetings outside the county to support senior officers.

What We're Looking For:To thrive in this role, you should possess:

  • Education & Experience: Level 2 education or equivalent relevant experience, with prior secretarial or PA experience in a high-level role.
  • Customer Focus: Experience in a customer-focused environment, with a strong ability to liaise with senior staff and the public.
  • Minute Taking Skills: Previous experience in minute taking or dictation is preferred; shorthand is not essential.
  • Technical Proficiency: Excellent keyboard skills, proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and Outlook.
  • Organisational Skills: Strong organisational abilities with attention to detail and the capacity to manage conflicting demands.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional communication skills, respecting confidentiality and promoting a diverse work environment.
