Your new companyHays Recruitment are currently supporting a lovely single-form entry primary school in Winsford as they are looking to appoint a motivated and reliable teaching assistant to support a pupil in year 1 on a 1:1 basis. This is a long-term contract with working hours consisting of 8:30am - 12:30pm.Your new roleWithin your new role as a teaching assistant within this school you will be supporting a pupil in year 1 on a 1:1 basis. You will support this pupil throughout the morning, meeting them at the school gate, ensuring that all lessons/activities are inclusive and engaging, and walk them back to their grown-up at lunch. This pupil does have SEN but does not present challenging behaviours or profound needs. They find it extremely difficult to engage with learning material so you will be required to build a strong constructive relationship with the pupil so as to associate learning material with their interests and promote learning/engagement.What you'll need to succeedTo be considered in your application, you must have full "Right to Work" in the UK as well as recent reference experience working with children and young people, as well as:

  • Experience working with challenging behaviours
  • The ability to promote learning and engagement
  • Be able to commit to a long-term contract
