Your new companyHays Recruitment are proud to be supporting a single-form entry primary school based in Winsford as they are looking to appoint a motivated and reliable teaching assistant to support a pupil in year 3 on a 1:1 basis. This pupil has SEMH and does at times present challenging behaviours.Your new roleIn your new role you will be supporting a pupil in year 3 on a 1:1 basis. You will act as this pupils' main point of contact throughout the school day, meeting them at the school gate and walking them back to their grown-up at the end of the day. As you will be supporting them on a 1:1 basis, you will support them during lessons and break-times, ensuring that all activities are inclusive, accessible and engaging. You will take a holistic approach to their education as to accommodate their SEMH, actively encouraging them to partake in learning material and ensuring engagement at all times. They will at times present challenging behaviours, they do not have violent tendencies but will become disruptive and try to leave the school. What you'll need to succeedTo be considered in your application, you must have full "Right to Work" in the UK as well as recent referenceable experience supporting SEN. As well as:

  • Experience supporting SEMH and/or challenging behaviours
  • The ability to build strong constructive relationships
  • The ability to implement positive behaviour strategies
