Job Title: Pre-Construction Planner - 55,000 - 75,000

The Role:


As a Pre-Construction Planner, you'll lead the development and delivery of tender stage project plans to secure works and establish project controls for successful project delivery. You will play a key role in producing NEC4 compliant, resourced programmes and work closely with the pre-construction, project, and client teams to ensure our bids are competitive and well-structured.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and produce 4-6 tender stage, NEC4 compliant programmes each month.
  • Analyse tender documents to inform programme development, ensuring optimal resources, risk, and opportunity management.
  • Collaborate with estimators and bid teams to ensure the best value and competitive offers.
  • Produce high-quality written responses to accompany tender programmes.
  • Contribute to the development of project methodologies and strategies.
  • Participate in post-tender and post-project reviews, continuously improving future tender submissions.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Education: An appropriate industry qualification, such as a Degree or HND in a relevant field (e.g., Civil Engineering, Construction Management).
  • At least 5 years of experience as a planner in a civil engineering environment, preferably with exposure to public realm, highways, or structural projects.
  • Strong knowledge of NEC4 contracts and civil engineering construction methods.
  • Experience with ASTA Powerproject (mandatory), and preferably Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and time management skills.
  • A proactive, collaborative attitude with the ability to motivate and influence teams.
