Recruit4staff are proud to be representing their client, a well-established engineering firm, in their search for a Manual Machinist to work in their facility in Bromborough.
Job Role:
The Manual Machinist position involves setting and operating manual lathe turners and milling machines, working with engineering drawings to produce bespoke and small-batch orders. The role requires working to tight tolerances and ensuring high precision in machining tasks.
Job Details:
- Pay: Up to £34,580 per annum (depending on experience).
- Hours of Work: Monday to Thursday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM; Friday, 8:00 AM to 2:30 PM.
- Duration: Permanent.
- Overtime Rules: Paid at enhanced rates. Current overtime includes 1 hour in the morning and Saturday mornings, workload dependent.
Essential Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Manual Machinist or Toolmaker.
- Proficiency in setting and operating manual lathes and milling machines.
- Ability to work from engineering drawings and to tight tolerances.
Desirable Requirements:
- CNC setting and programming experience.
- Mechanical fitting experience.
Day-to-Day Duties:
- Setting and operating manual lathe turners.
- Tool changing and precision machining.
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
- Working with Dean Smith & Grace, Colchester Mastiff, and Ajax Lathes.
- Producing bespoke and small-batch orders.
