Astute's Renewables team is exclusively partnering with Adapt Biogas, a UK Leader in anaerobic digestion, to recruit a Site Operator for its site in Murrow, established in 2013 and with a daily production of 12,000kWh electricity.

The Site Operator role comes with a starting salary between 28,000 - 35,000 (DOE), working closely with the Plant Manager and Engineering team, you will be responsible for plant operations, maintenance and process optimisation, with continual career development and progression opportunities. This is a 4 on 4 off (days and nights) shift pattern.

Responsibilities and duties

Reporting to the Plant Manager you will:

  • Carry out routine plant inspections, collecting and recording data and ensure plant operates efficiently.
  • Perform operational procedures to maintain plants condition, reporting defects and logging issues or concerns.
  • Working alongside the Plant Manager to optimise gas production, aligning daily operations with the plant's supply goals.
  • Assist the Engineering team in identifying and resolving plant issues to minimise downtime.
  • Support maintenance activities as required and respond to first line and breakdown maintenance within your expertise.
  • Coordinate with third-party contractors during onsite service and maintenance tasks.



Professional qualifications

We are looking for someone with the following:

  • Experience in a similar role, with similar/transferable processes.
  • A genuine interest in agriculture, process plants and in being hands on.
  • Experience operating forklifts/ telehandlers (training provided if license not currently held).



Personal skills

The Site Operator role would suit someone who is:

  • Located within 30 minutes of site.
  • Familiarity with the gas industry and health & safety regulations, or a willingness to learn.
  • Understanding of biogas production processes (preferred).
  • Background in waste management, recycling, or construction (preferred).
