CEH recruitment is pleased to recruiting exclusively for a Managing Director for a leading multi sited Manufacturing/Construction business based in the Wisbech/Kings Lynn area. This position has been created as a result for the Chairman looking to step down and handing the business reins over. The role of Managing Director will be to take full responsibility for the business from a financial perspective but also the day to day running of the business. There is an established team of Directors who will support the Managing Director in the business.

Job Role:-

  • Carryout all necessary day to day decision making, within guidelines laid down by the main Board of Directors, the Memorandum and Articles of Association and the Shareholders.
  • Ensure that all Managers are appropriately trained and competent to perform their roles and tasks within the business.
  • To be industry aware providing advice and guidance to the Board to ensure the business develops in-line with customer demand.
  • To be commercially focused, representing the business in negotiations with customers, suppliers and service providers securing the most effective terms available.
  • To ensure that Sales, manufacturing and distribution strategies are robust and successfully implemented and deliver agreed business objectives.
  • Ensure that the company meets all its legal requirements, including Employment law and those which relate to occupational health & safety.
  • Ensure that the management of all staff is non-discriminatory and, that no members of staff are harassed or victimised contrary to the Company’s policies, as laid down in its Staff Handbook.
  • Ensure that the Company follows the latest guidelines and complies with environmental issues.
  • To direct and fully support the Company’s World Class manufacturing continuous improvement programme.

To be considered for the role of Managing Director you will already be working at this level and ideally have come through the ranks from an operational perspective, so you understand the full implications of manufacturing. You will be able to demonstrate a full understanding of P&L for a business. You will have experience of managing a workforce fo 300+ people and also a company Turnover of £25m plus.

What’s on offer to the candidate as a Managing Director is a salary commensurate with the experience you can bring, The starting salary is £120 plus to £150k. The role comes with performance and annual bonuses, equity opportunities, car allowance or car, inflated pension contribution. In a nutshell the package can be negotiated to suit both parties.

Interviews will happen February 2025 with a proposed start date of June/July2025 (this can be negotiable depending on the successful candidate notice period)
