The Cover Supervisor will supervise and support students in the absence of their usual teacher, ensuring a positive and effective learning environment. This role involves delivering pre-set work, maintaining classroom discipline, and supporting the school’s academic and pastoral ethos.
Key Responsibilities:1. Classroom Supervision:- Supervise lessons in the absence of a teacher, ensuring students remain on task.
- Deliver pre-prepared lesson materials and instructions provided by subject teachers.
- Manage student behaviour in line with the school’s policies.
- Encourage and assist students with their work when needed.
- Foster a positive and focused classroom atmosphere.
- Provide feedback to teachers on student engagement and progress.
- Uphold high expectations of student conduct and enforce school rules.
- Manage classroom transitions and ensure a structured learning environment.
- Address minor behavioural issues and report concerns to the relevant staff.
- Assist with administrative tasks when required.
- Supervise students during break and lunch duties as directed.
- Support school events and extracurricular activities as needed.
- Experience working with young people, ideally in an educational setting.
- Strong classroom management and communication skills.
- The ability to engage and motivate students.
- A flexible and adaptable approach to work.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- Experience as a cover supervisor, teaching assistant, or in a similar role.
- A degree or equivalent qualification.
- An understanding of the secondary school curriculum.

- £130+ a day
- A DBS check will be required for this role.
