OCS provides our colleagues with opportunities to gain qualifications through funded development programmes aligned to the knowledge, skills, and behaviours attached to their roles.About The Role:Shift Pattern: Week 1 - Fri 06.30 - 14.00 Sun 10.30 - 18.30 Week 2 - Thurs 06.30 - 14.00 Fri 06.30 - 14.00 Week 3 Mon 10.30 - 18.30 Sun 06.30 - 14.30 Hours Per Week: 14.5As a breakfast cook, you will whip up tasty breakfast dishes according to the menu and make sure everything is ready for service times. You will keep the service counters stocked and know how to safely use all the kitchen equipment. You will also help out with food prep for other departments or events and pitch in with cleaning the kitchen, including surfaces, storage areas, utensils, and equipment. It's a hands-on role that keeps you busy and ensures everyone starts their day with a great meal.As part of your role, your key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Produce within component standards food required for the breakfast menu.
  • Ensure food, as per menu, is available for service times.
  • Replenish service counters as required.
  • Ensure knowledge of the operation of any kitchen equipment you are required to use and apply accordingly, utilising all safety measures.
  • Assist where necessary for in food preparation for other departments or for hospitality functions.
  • Assist where necessary in the cleaning of the kitchen areas, to include surfaces, storage areas, utensils and equipment.

The ideal candidate should meet the following criteria:

  • Must have Right to Work in the UK
  • An enhanced DBS will be completed for the successful candidate.
  • Minimum of two years in a Healthcare Catering Services environment
  • Must have Basic Food Hygiene Level 2 qualification as a minimum.
  • Customer focused with the ability to develop relationships quickly.
  • Demonstrates a proactive response when dealing with customers and colleagues.
  • Good communication skills.
