We are seeking a dynamic and people-oriented Production Manager to lead our production team in the bespoke manufacturing industry. As a Production Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of our manufacturing process, ensuring that production meets the highest quality standards, timelines, and customer expectations. Day-to-day of the role:- Lead and mentor a diverse production team, including assistant production managers, an operations planner, and a Quality Coordinator, ensuring they have the necessary resources and support.
- Promote a positive, inclusive, and respectful team environment, fostering a sense of value and empowerment among team members.
- Manage the production schedule in collaboration with the Operations Planner, accommodating changes in orders, product designs, or unforeseen delays.
- Prioritise health and safety by adhering to industry regulations and company policies.
- Implement and maintain rigorous quality control processes to ensure all products meet the company’s quality standards.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production efficiency, reduce waste, and optimise resource utilization.
- Facilitate effective communication between the production team, other departments (sales, design, logistics), and management.
- Oversee the efficient use of materials, tools, and machinery, managing stock levels of raw materials and staffing levels to align with budget and revenue.
- Proven experience in a production management role within the bespoke manufacturing industry or a similar field.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and support a team.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Deep understanding of bespoke manufacturing processes and meticulous attention to detail.
- Knowledge of production planning, quality control, and health and safety regulations.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities, capable of managing multiple priorities.
- Problem-solving mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Passion for working with people and fostering a positive workplace culture.
- Experience with lean manufacturing or other process improvement methodologies.
- Familiarity with textile-specific machinery and technologies.
- Previous experience in a customer-facing role, especially in dealing with bespoke orders and unique customer needs.
