Role Overview:We are seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join our team and provide tailored support to students with additional learning needs. The successful candidate will work closely with teachers, the SEND team, and individual students to ensure that all learners have access to high-quality education and the resources they need to succeed.
Key Responsibilities:- Support students with a range of learning needs, including those with SEND, in and out of the classroom.
- Assist teachers in delivering differentiated lessons and providing targeted interventions.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Help students develop confidence, independence, and essential learning skills.
- Provide one-to-one and small group support to enhance student progress.
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff and parents to implement individual learning plans (ILPs).
- Monitor and report on student progress to the SENCO and teaching team.
- Support students’ emotional and social development through positive engagement.
- Assist in preparing learning materials and adapting resources to meet student needs.
- Experience working with children or young people, ideally in an educational setting.
- A passion for supporting students with additional learning needs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to motivate and encourage learners.
- A proactive and flexible approach to supporting students and teachers.
- A relevant qualification in education or SEND (desirable but not essential).
