This local manufacturing business is looking for a high performing Finance Controller ideally with manufacturing experience, to join our finance team. You will be responsible for leading a finance team, encompassing manufacturing and inventory. This will include driving performance, improvements in systems and processes and financial reporting. You will have overall control and responsibility for all financial aspects of company strategy, analysis of results and implementation of recommendations.You will also be involved in a number of interesting projects within the business, that help drive continuous improvement of data, processes, and systems within the finance team. This is an office based roleResponsibilities:
  • Lead and develop the Finance team
  • Manage the budgeting, forecasting and planning process liaising with each department head to build a financial strategy.
  • Ensure the company’s financial systems are robust, compliant and support current activities and future growth
  • Participation in business strategy development
  • Managing, developing and maintaining strong working relationships with external stakeholders
  • Responsibility for the timely and accurate completion of the monthly and weekly business performance reports including rolling forecasts and variance reporting.
  • Working closely with other stakeholders in the business to help report key KPI’s in a timely manner.
  • Development and refinement of management accounting and reporting, including KPIs and business analysis
  • Responsibility for the maintenance of the costing system, to ensure they are up to date and accurate.
  • Preparation of draft annual accounts, working paper files and consolidation of financial statements and supporting with the statutory audit, and being a key point of contact.
  • Working with and liaising with external financial advisers
  • Ensuring the company’s financial framework is operating within statutory legislation
Requirements:
  • Qualified Accountant or equivalent (ACCA,ACA,CIMA)
  • Advanced knowledge of MS applications including Excel and Access
  • Experienced Manager & Leader
  • Strong Communication Skills
  • Commercial Astute
  • Inquisitive and pro active problem solver
  • Ability to deal with financial and non financial people across the business
  • Confident and highly motivated
  • Experienced in inventory planning and stock control.
