Role Overview
We are looking for a part time Legal Cashier. You'll play a key role in overseeing financial transactions within the practice. We're looking for a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a regulated environment, ensuring that all financial records are precise, compliant, and support the smooth operation of the firm.
Hours
- 3 days a week (9 am - 5 pm), with the flexibility to increase hours as needed.
- Salary negotiable based on experience, with a pro-rated full-time equivalent of £30,000+.
Key Responsibilities
- Efficiently process accounts payable transactions to maintain accurate, timely financial records.
- Keep detailed financial records using accounting software like QuickBooks, Xero, or Sage.
- Regularly prepare and reconcile bank statements to uphold accuracy in reporting.
- Assist in the preparation and analysis of financial reports as needed.
- Address payment inquiries from clients and vendors, ensuring resolution of discrepancies.
- Ensure full compliance with legal and firm policies for all financial transactions.
- Support the finance team with various ad-hoc tasks to improve workflow and operations.
Qualifications & Skills
- Demonstrated experience in a similar role, ideally within a legal or professional services setting.
- Proficiency with accounting software, particularly Xero or Sage, is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of accounts payable and general financial record-keeping.
- Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to multitask effectively.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative team spirit.
- A proactive problem-solver with the discretion to manage sensitive information.
