What You’ll Be Doing:

As a Band 3 Microbiology Medical Laboratory Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing accurate and efficient laboratory support in microbiology services. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing and processing microbiological samples for analysis
  • Assisting with the culture, identification, and testing of samples
  • Maintaining the laboratory’s cleanliness and adherence to safety protocols
  • Supporting senior laboratory staff with diagnostic procedures
  • Ensuring proper sample handling and documentation
  • Contributing to quality control measures and laboratory audits
  • Collaborating with the laboratory team to improve patient outcomes and support the wider healthcare team
Requirements & Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Previous experience working in a NHS Microbiology laboratory
  • A sound understanding of laboratory techniques and specimen handling
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • A commitment to maintaining high standards of laboratory practice
  • Full right to work in the UK (we cannot offer sponsorship)
Working Hours & Contract Duration:

The role operates Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week, 9am - 5pm. The initial contract is 3 months, with the possibility of extension based on performance and service requirements.
