Your new companyExcellent opportunity to join a Local Authority in central Essex to work in their Facilities team. You will be joining a small and friendly team who are responsible for the maintenance and facilities management of council-owned property (non-residential), including open spaces. This opportunity is offered on an interim basis for an initial three months, but may be extended until March 2025.

Your new roleAs the Interim Facilities and Maintenance Officer, you will work on reactive and planned maintenance projects on a variety of council-owned buildings and open spaces. You will be responsible for assessing reported maintenance issues and pro-actively identifying potential issues. You will manage contractors to deliver the repairs and will also work with the in-house team to deliver repairs. A vehicle is supplied for use during working hours, though you will need to provide your own transport to travel to work. The working hours for the role are 8am - 4pm Monday to Thursday and 8am - 3.30pm on Fridays.

What you'll need to succeedIn order to be successful for this role, you will need to have experience working within a facilities or maintenance environment and be capable managing projects on your own. You should have experience managing contractors and preference is given to those with experience gained working with commercial property over residential. Strong IT skills are required, including Microsoft Excel.
