The Role

As the Business Unit Manager, you will take ownership of the butchers and fresh meat product portfolios within specified accounts. You’ll liaise daily with customers, ensuring their needs are met while maximizing value for the company. This role is integral to driving volume growth, margin improvement, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the butchers and fresh meat product portfolios for assigned accounts, maintaining daily communication with customers.
  • Develop and execute a business plan to achieve volume growth and optimal margin returns.
  • Conduct regular reviews with customers and internal teams to ensure trading objectives are met through continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain and update category forecasts, ensuring efficient stock management and service levels.
  • Identify opportunities for price optimization, cost reduction, and supply chain efficiency.
  • Oversee customer-specific tenders, coordinating internal approvals.
  • Collaborate with marketing teams to drive branded growth and enhance category performance.
  • Present progress on budgets and growth plans during monthly management meetings.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Proven experience within the butchers or fresh meat industry is essential.
  • Commercial management experience with major UK leisure/hospitality venues or chains.
  • Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
