We are seeking a skilled and experienced Drainage Engineer to strengthen our team and to join us across commercial, industrial, and domestic sectors to join our fast-growing business. This role demands flexibility, technical expertise, and a customer-focused mindset to tackle a wide range of drainage issues efficiently.
Given the demands of our contracts, some tasks may require early starts, late finishes, or occasional weekend work. As a result, flexibility with working hours is a key requirement for this position.The ideal candidate will be based in North London/Hertfordshire or Essex (but will do the odd job in Kent if needed and able to travel throughout London and the Southeast. While the majority of work is local, there may be instances where travel to other parts of the UK is necessary.
This is a self-directed role that involves close collaboration with the Drainage Sales team and support staff located at our head office.
Role ResponsibilitiesAs a Drainage Engineer, your duties will include:
- Responding to emergency and reactive calls promptly.
- Performing CCTV surveys and diagnosing drainage issues (basic plumbing skills are advantageous).
- Clearing blockages using rodding and high-pressure water jetting techniques.
- Conducting a variety of remedial drainage repairs, including:
- Descaling
- Resin lining and patching
- Excavation and replacement of drainage systems
- Operating excavation and vacuum equipment.
- Utilizing PDA devices for job updates and reporting.
To succeed in this role, you should bring:
- At least 5 years of experience in drainage engineering or a similar field.
- A valid UK driving license (maximum of 6 points).
- Certification in CSCS and a valid CS1 Confined Space card.
- Familiarity with Picote drainage tools and equipment.
- Exceptional time management and punctuality.
- A strong commitment to health and safety compliance, following HSE and industry standards.
- Salary:£35,000-£45,000 (dependent on experience)

Standard working hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (40 hours per week). Some early morning, late evening, or weekend work may be required based on client needs.
