Customs Entry Clerk

Our Client is one of the UK's leading international freight forwarding companies, who pride themselves on offering the very best solutions for their customers while ensuring a first-class service. Due to increased demand they are currently looking for an experienced Customs Entry Clerk to join their team in Essex.

On a day-to-day basis, you'll be liaising with customers, customs authorities, coordinating customs clearances from start to finish, ensuring all customs activities and procedures are carried out in accordance with customer agreements and the agreed policy, at the lowest cost and with the best possible results.

Customs Entry Clerk duties Include:

• Prepare documentation for import customs clearance, process and monitor import clearances
• Liaising with customers and consignees, Customs Authorises and Port Health

Experience Required:

• Import customs clearance experience
• Food import, SPS and Port Health experience
• Good knowledge of the various customs procedures
• Good knowledge of Destin8, CNS and MultiFreight
• Good knowledge of Microsoft office, including Excel and databases
• Strong communications and organisational skills
• Strong work ethics with focus on attention to detail and accuracy
• Team player and self-driven with a positive attitude

Successful Customs Entry Clerks have a good operational know-how of customs clearance procedures, food import, SPS and Port Health experience, including relevant laws and regulations.  You'll be organised by nature with an eye for detail, and will thrive in a fast paced and dynamic atmosphere.  Beyond that, you are innately responsive to the needs of customers and co-workers, and you actively contribute to the formulation and achievement of common goals. You are always alert to new opportunities.

We're keen to speak to Customs professionals with 3+ years' experience in a comparable role, and/or UK Customs Academy Level 3 trained.
