About the Role:

Reputable insurance brokerage seeking a Commercial Account Handler to join their established team. The role is servicing the insurance needs of existing customers, providing quality customer care, ensuring that documents are obtained and despatched promptly and all issues raised by the client are effectively dealt with. Support management and colleagues in their endeavours to achieve and surpass targets and always provide a first-class service.

Duties:

  • Provide quality service to existing clients and company partners, covering all aspects of their insurance arrangements; to advise, review, arrange and secure the appropriate cover at a competitive premium
  • Deal with new business, midterm adjustments and renewals in the relevant markets according to company terms and conditions
  • Carry out client/partner instructions regarding the arrangement or amendment of insurance for clients, referring the query to the appropriate person when the enquiry falls outside own knowledge and experience
  • Liaise effectively with the insurers and the client/partner to ensure an appropriate strategy for renewal
  • Obtain renewal terms and present to client/partner
  • Issue renewal documentation in line with contract certainty
  • Ensure premiums are collected prior to the commencement of cover and in line with company procedures
  • Prioritise and handle all work promptly and accurately
  • Handle all queries, whether written or by telephone, in a professional manner and process effectively in line with service standards
  • To be aware of, and to follow at all times, the firm's policy on Treating Customers Fairly
  • Record all relevant information, correspondence and documentation on Acturis and make effective use of the diary system
  • Produce accurate and professional documentation at all times using relevant company templates 

Skills:

  • Able to use own initiative.
  • Ability to work as a team player.
  • Practical working knowledge of current FCA regulations.
  • Experience of adhering to and maintaining systems and procedures.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
  • Ability to develop effective working relationships externally and internally.

  • Good understanding of Acturis desirable and strong, Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills.

Knowledge required:

  • 1 + Years Commercial experience.
  • Experience of excellent relationship management with clients
  • CII qualification desirable but not essential
