Our client is a fast-growing logistics company specialising in freight distribution and warehousing. They are currently looking to appoint an experienced Customs Clerk to strengthen their existing customs team at their UK division in Thurrock.

As Customs Clerk, your typical day will involve liaising with customers, customs authorities, coordinating customs clearances from start to finish, offering a high level of customs knowledge in line with legislation and to the current border operating model.

Experience / Qualifications required from the Customs Clerk:

Knowledge of NCTS, Destin8 and ASM Sequoia
Experience with communicating HMRC and Border Force
Strong administration and data entry skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Good organizational skills with the ability to multi-task
Able to build relationships internally and externally
Be computer Literate, able to use Microsoft Office Suite and able learn new systems
Knowledge of the logistics industry an advantage

This is a full-time permanent position working Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend shifts on a rolling rota basis.

In return, the successful Customs Clerk will be offered in the region of £32,000 in line with experience and skills, as well as a benefits package.
