Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Property & Casualty Underwriter to join our client's dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical mindset, solid understanding of risk assessment, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service. As a Property & Casualty Underwriter, you will play a critical role in evaluating insurance applications, determining coverage and pricing, and ensuring compliance with underwriting guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate insurance applications and determine the level of risk involved
  • Analyse property and casualty insurance policies to ensure they meet the company's underwriting guidelines
  • Collaborate with agents, brokers, and internal team members to gather necessary information for underwriting decisions
  • Review and assess underwriting data to make informed decisions regarding coverage and pricing
  • Maintain a solid understanding of industry trends and regulatory changes to adjust underwriting guidelines as needed
  • Provide excellent customer service by answering inquiries and providing guidance to agents, brokers, and policyholders
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of new underwriting strategies and processes

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or related field
  • 3+ years of experience in underwriting, preferably in commercial property and casualty underwriting
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to make data-driven underwriting decisions
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in underwriting software and Microsoft Office suite
  • A strong commitment to diversity, equality, and inclusion in the workplace
