What You’ll Be Doing:As a Band 7 Occupational Therapist, you'll play a key role in facilitating recovery and safe discharge for patients undergoing elective procedures. Your responsibilities will include:

  • conducting functional assessments and post-op rehabilitation planning
  • supporting patient recovery and discharge across elective surgery pathways
  • collaborating with surgical, nursing, and AHP teams for joined-up care
  • identifying equipment needs and home adaptations for post-discharge safety
  • leading on clinical decision-making and mentoring junior staff

Requirements & Qualifications:To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • HCPC registration as an Occupational Therapist
  • substantial experience working in surgical or inpatient OT settings
  • strong clinical reasoning and discharge planning skills
  • the ability to supervise and support junior team members
  • excellent communication and documentation skills

Working Hours & Contract Duration:This is a full-time position (Monday–Friday, 08:30–16:30), but part-time applicants will also be considered. The post is offered on an ongoing contract basis, with a strong likelihood of extension depending on service needs.
