Your new companyExcellent opportunity to join a Local Authority in Essex as a Compliance Officer within the Property team. This role is offered on a permanent basis. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in ensuring the property portfolio meets all relevant regulatory and statutory compliance standards. Your new roleAs the Compliance Officer, you will be responsible for monitoring and enforcing compliance standards across various areas including health and safety, fire safety, asbestos management, gas and electrical safety and environmental regulations. Working closely with other teams within the council, you will also work with contractors and stakeholders to help maintain a safe and legally compliant property estate for the council. As part of this role, you will conduct inspections and risk assessments to identify and mitigate risks and monitor contractor performance to ensure adherence to safety and quality performance. This will involve maintaining up-to-date records of compliance documentation and provide expert advice on regulatory changes and their impacts on the council's properties.

What you'll need to succeedIn order to be successful for this role, you should hold a relevant qualification in compliance and health and Safety such as NEBOSH, BIFM etc. You should be able to demonstrate knowledge of property compliance regulations including health and safety, fire safety and building regulations. Experience working within a local authority or public sector environment is preferred. A driving licence and access to a vehicle for this role is required.
