Job Title: Import LCL Coordinator (Mandarin Speaker)

Location: Witham, Essex
Salary: Up to 33,000

Job Type: Full-Time - Monday to Friday - 08:00am to 17:00pm

Job Description:

As an Import Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in managing the importation process, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of goods, and maintaining strong communication with global suppliers, customers, and partners. Your ability to communicate in Mandarin will be key in liaising with suppliers and clients in China and other Mandarin-speaking regions, facilitating smooth operations and building strong relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and coordinate all aspects of the import process from China and other Mandarin-speaking regions.
• Communicate directly with Chinese suppliers, customs brokers, and overseas partners to ensure timely delivery and compliance with regulations.
• Track and monitor shipments, resolving any delays or issues that may arise.
• Prepare and manage all import documentation, including invoices, bills of lading, and customs declarations.
• Liaise with internal departments to ensure alignment on inventory levels, production schedules, and customer orders.
• Work closely with the logistics team to coordinate shipping schedules and ensure cost-effective solutions.
• Monitor and ensure compliance with customs regulations, tariffs, and import laws.
• Provide regular updates and reports to management on the status of orders, shipments, and any challenges encountered.
• Foster positive relationships with overseas partners, ensuring excellent communication and service levels.

Requirements:

• Fluent in both Mandarin and English
• Proven experience as an Import Coordinator for a Freight Forwarder or similar
• Strong understanding of international shipping, import/export regulations, and customs procedures.
• Must be UK based and have Right to work in the UK.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Experience working with international suppliers, particularly in China or Mandarin-speaking regions (Desired)
• Familiarity with ERP systems and logistics software.
• Knowledge of tariff codes, international trade regulations, and customs clearance processes.
