BUYER - AEROSPACE - ESSEX - HYBRID WORKING - £30k BASIC + 35% BONUS + CIPS SPONSORSHIP + PACKAGE.

Pod Talent is excited to partner with a leading global aerospace business to recruit a Buyer to join their team of 12.

As a result of a company-wide expansion and the implementation of a global initiative, the buyer will be joining a role responsible for procurement activities in the UK and Canada, to deliver significant cost savings and generate value across the group.

This role is available due to ongoing growth , within the business. There is a huge emphasis on learning and development and career advancement, with clear structures and paths in place so that you can progress to Senior Buyer within 12-18 months.

The buyer will not only be a fundamental member of a newly created team, but they will have full autonomy over procurement in their regions. They will also be:

  • Tasked with procuring goods and materials to ensure that the company’s operational needs are met, considering the price, quality, and delivery and to ensure continuity of supply.
  • Monitoring market trends, competitor strategies and market suppliers.
  • Negotiate contracts, improve prices and terms of business with suppliers and review opportunities to deliver business savings utilising negotiation and procurement best practice tools and methods.
  • Assess and evaluate suppliers and undertake performance reviews to ensure contract compliance and manage performance improvement activities.
  • Working collaboratively and negotiate and engage with stakeholders and suppliers regarding new projects, supplies and initiatives and advise on impact of change on procurement and production activities.
  • The business is open to seeing candidates from different industries, however an understanding of aerospace, aviation, engineering or manufacturing will be useful.

The ideal candidate will also demonstrate a willingness to learn, entrepreneurial mindset and strong excel skills.
