I am currently working with a global manufacturer to recruit a Senior Buyer to join their team.

  • Ensure supplier relationships are stable and sustainable, building and maintaining good communication levels and procure product effectively, including travel to supplier locations.
  • Overseeing the accurate administration of the function, including all documentation, ordering, pricing, shipment, warehousing suitability and stock control and scheduling payments and prepayments.
  • Contact with transport providers and intermediaries, organising shipping.
  • Close collaboration with Head of Product Development to assist in identifying potential new products/ranges and profiling new suppliers.
  • Close liaison with sales to ensure customer demands are clear, via use of forecasts, and are met via correct service levels.
  • Liaison with Far East Supply Representative, assisting in managing supply chain relationships.
  • Developing key suppliers to improve relationships/partnerships and mitigate potential future risk.
  • Monitor regular suppliers and transport providers to assess performance and price competitiveness, introduce metrics where necessary.
  • Identify slow selling stock and initiate action.
  • Analyse buying trends to identify areas for improvement and/or cost saving.
  • Develop and manage ESG responsibilities within the supply chain.
