We are seeking an Accounts Assistant to join our team. This role is ideal for an "all-rounder" with strong experience in managing purchase and subcontractor ledgers as well as payroll. The position offers a variety of responsibilities and requires someone who can handle multiple aspects of accounting efficiently.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Purchase and Subcontractor Ledgers:

    • Manage all aspects of these ledgers.
    • Receive, code, and process all supplier and subcontractor invoices in line with company processes.
    • Handle supplier queries to ensure invoices are processed for payment correctly and promptly.
    • Conduct payment runs and upload them for payment.
    • Reconcile supplier accounts and maintain accurate supplier details.
    • Communicate with suppliers through phone calls, emails, and letters.
    • Verify subcontractor payment statuses under the CIS scheme.
    • Process expense requests and monthly reporting.
  • Payroll Responsibilities:

    • Process the monthly payroll end-to-end for approximately 35 people.
    • Provide cover for the weekly payroll end-to-end for approximately 400 people.
    • Address payroll-related queries.
  • Other Responsibilities:

    • Undertake other ad-hoc duties as required to meet the department's needs.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Strong experience in processing and managing all aspects of payroll.
  • Proven ability in handling purchase and subcontractors ledger.
  • Ability to work independently or collaboratively as needed.
  • Excellent attention to detail and solid Excel skills (e.g., V-lookups and Pivot tables).
  • Strong numeracy and literacy skills.
  • Excellent timekeeping and organisational skills.
  • Experience in the construction industry is desirable but not essential.
