Are you a compassionate and experienced Higher-Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) with a passion for supporting children with SEND and SEMH needs? We are seeking an HLTA to join a Primary School in Thurrock to work with a group of 10 students with a range of SEND and SEMH needs in an Alternative Provision setting.

The Role:
- Working with SEND & SEMH Students: Support a small group of 10 students in Year 1 to Year 3, with a variety of special educational needs, including sensory and emotional/mental health needs.
- Challenging but Rewarding: The students are highly diverse and can be quite challenging, requiring a supportive and patient approach.
- Sensory Needs: The students have significant sensory needs, so a calm and adaptive approach is essential.
- Non-Verbal Students: Some of the children in the group are non-verbal, so experience with alternative communication methods (e.g., PECS, Makaton) would be advantageous.

What We're Looking For:
- Experience: Experience working with children with SEND, SEMH needs, and sensory processing difficulties. Experience working with non-verbal children is highly desirable.
- Skills: Strong communication, patience, and a calm, understanding approach to managing challenging behaviours.
- Qualifications: A recognised HLTA qualification (or equivalent) is essential. Additional training in supporting children with sensory and SEMH needs would be beneficial.
- Flexibility & Adaptability: The ability to adapt to the needs of each child, creating a supportive learning environment that fosters their development.
