Learning Support Assistant (LSA) - SEMH School

Are you passionate about supporting students with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs? We are seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join a specialist school in Essex.

This school is highly regarded for its commitment to providing a supportive and structured environment for students with SEMH challenges. The focus is on helping each child build their confidence, manage their emotions, and succeed academically. As an LSA, you will be instrumental in providing personalised support to students, ensuring they feel valued and are able to progress both emotionally and educationally.

Role responsibilities:- Offer one-to-one and group support to students with SEMH needs- Assist in the development and implementation of individualised learning and behaviour management plans- Support students in regulating their emotions and behaviour, using positive interventions- Help create a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment- Work closely with teachers, support staff, and external agencies to ensure holistic support for students

Requirements:- Previous experience working with students with SEMH or similar needs- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to manage challenging behaviour- A patient, compassionate approach to supporting vulnerable students- A genuine passion for helping young people overcome barriers to their learning and personal development
