Academics are working with an inclusive, well-respected primary school based in Thurrock, Essex. The Head Teacher of this school wishes to appoint a dedicated and genuinely committed SEN behaviour Mentor to join them from January on a long-term basis.

The successful candidate will work with the school's highly successful pastoral manager in removing the barriers to learning experienced by some students who have special educational needs. This will be through planned outreach in the classroom and leading intervention programmes in the inclusion area. Effective communication with parents/carers/staff and other relevant professionals is an essential part of this role.

This is an incredible opportunity to have a real impact on the progress and well-being of young people.

The successful candidate must:

  • Have excellent communication skills
  • Have good organisational and interpersonal skills
  • Be caring, patient and empathetic
  • Have the ability to work as part of a team as well as on their own initiative
  • Have good literacy and numeracy skills with GCSE literacy and numeracy grades A-C

You will be required:

-To ensure all pupils are supported to achieve their unique potential both personally and academically.

-To work as part of both the SEND team and a curriculum area to ensure all potential barriers to learning are removed for individual pupils.
