Premier Recruitment Group is working on behalf of prestigious client who is looking for an experienced HGV Mechanic in Takeley, Essex who needs to have both a good depth and breadth of knowledge of heavy motor vehicles and, preferably, will hold at least a Level 3 City & Guilds qualification or equivalent. They will be part of a small but enthusiastic, friendly, and growing team of mechanics with a focus offering excellent customer service.This is full time and permanent position.

With the nature of the work involved, sound training and support will be given.

  • To perform vehicle maintenance or trouble shoot defects and carry out repairs as necessary.
  • To perform servicing and MOT preparation
  • Carry out occasional breakdowns using company service vans.
  • Strong experience that has both breadth and depth of knowledge of trucks, trailers, engines, gearboxes, axles, hydraulic systems, electrical diagnosis and be able to use diagnostic equipment.
  • Produce details of job on a job card, service sheet and daily time log
  • Communicate with supervisory staff regularly to keep them updated on the progress of your job
  • Be aware and responsible for Health & Safety of yourself and other employees.
  • Shift pattern: Monday - Friday 8am-5pm

Additional items:

  • Welding experience preferred but not essential.
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • CE LGV Licence preferred but not essential.
  • Experience of crane operations preferred but not essential.
