Butler Rose is delighted to offer an excellent opportunity for a Management Accountant to join a prestigious luxury hospitality company based in the Witney area. This role provides the chance to work closely with the Finance Director (FD), taking full responsibility for the preparation of monthly management accounts. Additionally, you will receive training to complete the management accounts pack if the successful candidate lacks experience in this area. This position offers full study support (if required) and career progression into a Finance Business Partner role, where you will engage with the wider Directors of the business. The company promotes a vibrant and social working environment, featuring regular social events, including summer and winter gatherings, as well as an annual European weekend getaway fully funded by the business.Role OverviewThe Management Accountant will play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy of all financial transactions related to customer bookings and supplier activities. You will manage the preparation of all accounting information, respond to ad-hoc financial requests, and collaborate with the FD to produce accurate reports. Key Responsibilities* Oversee the daily management of payments related to customer bookings. * Manage multi-currency bank accounts, including processing outgoing payments and resolving Bankline queries. * Conduct weekly payment runs, including supplier payments, client refunds, bill payments, and agent commission invoices, ensuring payment notifications are sent to all relevant parties. * Develop and manage a weekly cash flow reporting process. * Reconcile bank accounts on a weekly basis. * Administer the employee expenses process. * Reconcile credit card statements on a monthly basis. * Take ownership of the month-end process, including: * Releasing bookings from the balance sheet to the P&L in the departure month. * Posting month-end adjustment journals. * Managing the fixed asset register. * Preparing balance sheet reconciliations. * Compiling the monthly Management Accounts pack. * Preparing the monthly 'Huddle' pack. * Assist in gathering and organising information for external accountants to prepare statutory accounts. * Support the Finance Director with strategic projects and ad-hoc tasks as required. Skills and Experience Required* QBE, AAT, or ACCA/CIMA part-qualified or equivalent. * Experience with Xero is advantageous. * Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint. * Familiarity with Salesforce is beneficial, with full training provided. * Comfortable with technology and adaptable to new systems. * Strong attention to detail. * A collaborative team player with the ability to build strong relationships at all levels. * Friendly, approachable, and professional demeanour. * Excellent written and verbal communication skills. * Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask. * Professional telephone manner. * Ability to prioritise tasks effectively and perform well under pressure. * Effective problem-solving skills.
