A Challenging Behaviour Teaching Assistant role is best suited for a recent psychology or criminology graduate who has a deep interest in understanding the implicating factors that cause challenging behaviour in individuals. As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will have the opportunity of collaborating and observing trained professionals such as experienced SENCOs, Educational Psychologists, and Occupational Therapists. The ability to gain vital experience and to learn from specialist professionals will give you a solid foundation for your career.

You will work with young learners who portray nonconforming behaviour that needs specialist adult intervention. A SEN Teaching Assistant will implement specific strategies, provide emotional support and promote positive habits that will improve their overall well-being and social interactions with their peers.

The senior leadership team are looking for an individual who demonstrates excellent behavioural management skills, is committed to improving the life of a challenging young person and is able to easily adapt their approach and strategies to the specific needs of the individual. Relevant experience of working with difficult behaviour, mental health issues or SEN children is admirable for the Challenging Behaviour Teaching Assistant position.
