Overview
As a Personal Tax Manager, you will play a crucial role in managing the tax affairs of individual clients within our client's Witney-based practice. Your responsibilities will include providing expert tax advice, ensuring compliance with tax laws, and delivering exceptional service to their clients.
Responsibilities
- Client Portfolio Management:
- Manage a portfolio of private clients, including individuals, sole traders, partnerships, [and a small number of trusts]
- Prepare and review self-assessment and partnership tax returns.
- Calculate tax liabilities and identify tax planning opportunities.
- Handle client queries promptly and professionally.
- Correspond with HMRC as required.
- Liaise directly with clients to build strong relationships.
- Tax Compliance and Reporting:
- Ensure accurate and timely preparation of personal tax returns.
- Handle capital gains computations.
- Assist with ad hoc advisory work as needed.
- Collaborate with Senior Managers and Partners.
- Tax Planning and Strategy:
- Provide expert advice on personal tax matters.
- Develop innovative tax planning strategies.
- Stay informed about changes in tax legislation.
- Advise clients on areas such as Capital Gains Tax and Property Tax.
Qualifications and Skills
- Relevant tax qualifications (e.g., ATT, CTA) preferred.
- Strong knowledge of personal tax regulations.
- Excellent communication and client management skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
