Overview

As a Personal Tax Manager, you will play a crucial role in managing the tax affairs of individual clients within our client's Witney-based practice. Your responsibilities will include providing expert tax advice, ensuring compliance with tax laws, and delivering exceptional service to their clients.

Responsibilities

  • Client Portfolio Management:
    • Manage a portfolio of private clients, including individuals, sole traders, partnerships, [and a small number of trusts]
    • Prepare and review self-assessment and partnership tax returns.
    • Calculate tax liabilities and identify tax planning opportunities.
    • Handle client queries promptly and professionally.
    • Correspond with HMRC as required.
    • Liaise directly with clients to build strong relationships.
  • Tax Compliance and Reporting:
    • Ensure accurate and timely preparation of personal tax returns.
    • Handle capital gains computations.
    • Assist with ad hoc advisory work as needed.
    • Collaborate with Senior Managers and Partners.
  • Tax Planning and Strategy:
    • Provide expert advice on personal tax matters.
    • Develop innovative tax planning strategies.
    • Stay informed about changes in tax legislation.
    • Advise clients on areas such as Capital Gains Tax and Property Tax.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Relevant tax qualifications (e.g., ATT, CTA) preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of personal tax regulations.
  • Excellent communication and client management skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
