A phenomenal primary school in Witney are seeking an enthusiastic individual to join their team as an Autism Specialist to provide support to a student with additional needs. The school provide education to 7-11 year olds and are committed to building a nurturing environment where children are encouraged to reach their potential. As an Autism Specialist, you would be supporting a student on a 1-1 basis throughout the school day, providing role model guidance.

The school have a fantastic community with excellent internal and external resources, making it the perfect environment to grow and develop your skills when supporting students with additional needs.

The responsibilities of the Autism Specialist role include:

  • - Encouraging independence and self investigation
  • - Assisting the student with learning material
  • - Providing direction and keeping the student focused
  • - Identifying and observing different triggers for behaviour
  • - Participating in team meetins with on-site professionals to tailor education plans for the student
  • - Implementing self-regulation techniques and healthy coping method

The successful Autism Specialist will receive full training and development opportunities, joining the school with the intention of gaining experience and knowledge surrounding additional needs.
