Job Overview
Education Boutique is seeking an experienced SEN/SEMH tutor to provide GCSE English and Maths tuition to a Year 11 learner. This role can be delivered either online or in-person, depending on the suitability of the educator. The opportunity is open to a single tutor covering both subjects or two tutors specialising in one subject each.
The learner is working at GCSE Level 2/3 in both subjects, although FFT projections suggest potential to achieve a Grade 5. Support is required to help reach this potential in a structured and engaging way.
Tuition Schedule (Flexible, but not between 12 PM - 1 PM)
Monday - Friday (Daytime Hours)
2 hours per subject per week, scheduled based on tutor availability
Learner Profile
- Described as an upstanding individual who values family and friends.
- Prefers a quiet, relaxed learning environment and works best when comfortable in surroundings.
- Identified as a "joker" in the EHCP, with a personality that can be blunt and abrupt at times—this is not intentional but a natural communication style that varies day to day.
- Has an ASD diagnosis, though has not fully comprehended it.
- EHCP available to provide further insights into learning needs and required strategies.
Tutor Requirements
- Experience teaching GCSE English and/or Maths,
- particularly to SEN/SEMH learners.
- Ability to create a structured but flexible learning environment, adapting to the learner’s communication style and needs.
- Comfortable delivering sessions either in-person or online.
- Open to working individually or alongside another tutor if required.
