About the Role:We are seeking a skilled and proactive IT Technician to support the smooth running of IT services at a school in Witney, Oxfordshire. The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge and problem-solving skills, providing front-line support to staff and students. You will be responsible for maintaining hardware, software, and network infrastructure, ensuring the school's IT systems operate efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide day-to-day technical support for IT equipment and systems, including computers, printers, interactive whiteboards, and projectors.
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software issues, resolving technical problems in a timely manner.
  • Install, configure, and maintain operating systems, applications, and software for both staff and student devices.
  • Ensure the school's network infrastructure is running effectively, addressing connectivity issues and managing user access.
  • Assist in the setup and support of audio-visual equipment for school events and classrooms.
  • Maintain IT inventory records, ensuring that all equipment is properly accounted for and operational.
  • Support the implementation of new IT initiatives, upgrades, and projects across the school.
  • Liaise with external IT providers when necessary to ensure timely repairs and updates.
  • Ensure data security, backups, and adherence to GDPR regulations.
  • Provide training and guidance to staff and students on the use of IT equipment and software.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Proven experience as an IT Technician, preferably in an educational setting.
  • Strong knowledge of hardware and software troubleshooting, including Windows operating systems, network management, and common school software applications.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office 365, Active Directory, and cloud-based solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain technical issues in simple terms to non-technical users.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Relevant IT qualifications (such as CompTIA, Microsoft certifications) are desirable but not essential.
