Senior EHS Specialist

We are currently recruiting for a Senior EHS Specialist in Witney, working initially on a 12 month contract, with the idea it would be extended and potentially made permanent further on down the line.

This would be working for a Global Healthcare company, managing their emergency response team, designing and delivering safety training programmes, and offering guidance on EHS standards and UK regulations.

You will be overseeing and coordinating projects related to environmental health and safety (EHS) initiatives, ensuring the successful implementation and communication of safety programmes across the facility.

The role also includes supporting safety incident investigations and maintaining the quality system's effectiveness while ensuring compliance with corporate, divisional, and local regulations. In addition, you will develop and enforce EHS policies and procedures, and will step in to lead the EHS team in the absence of the EHS manager when necessary.

Key Responsibilities

  • EHS Training: Develop and conduct thorough EHS training programs, offering resources and support to ensure employees are well-versed in safe work practices.
  • Emergency Response: Oversee and support the site’s Emergency Response Team, ensuring preparedness and effective handling of any emergency situations.
  • Project Management: Manage and execute EHS projects as assigned, ensuring they align with safety and regulatory requirements.
  • Incident Investigation: Conduct investigations into safety incidents and accidents, creating corrective measures to prevent future occurrences.
  • Employee Health and Safety: Take responsibility for maintaining site-wide employee health and safety, ensuring a safe working environment for all personnel.
  • Reporting: Compile and submit safety and environmental reports to management, division leadership, corporate, and regulatory bodies.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Implement and communicate Corporate, Divisional, Federal, State, and Local regulations, ensuring the facility adheres to all required standards.
