Job Purpose:
The Parts Advisor will be responsible for providing excellent customer service on the front counter, answering inbound calls, and serving both retail and trade customers. This role involves ordering parts from internal and external sources, picking and packing parts, and ensuring accurate invoicing. The Parts Advisor will also play a key role in maintaining customer relationships and ensuring customer satisfaction through effective communication and service delivery.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
Customer Service: Serve customers both face-to-face and over the phone, providing expert advice and assistance with parts orders.
Parts Identification and Ordering:Ensure the correct parts are identified and ordered from internal and external sources.
Picking and Packing:Accurately pick, pack, and prepare parts for delivery or customer collection.
Invoicing:Process customer orders accurately, ensuring timely invoicing and payment collection.
Customer Relationship Management:Build long-term rapport with retail and trade customers, ensuring excellent relationships and repeat business.
Promotion and Incentives:Actively promote current offers, discounts, and customer incentives to drive sales.
Order Processing:Input customer orders into the MAM system (training provided), ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
Returns Processing: Manage customer returns, ensuring efficient collection and processing.
Team Collaboration:Work well both independently and as part of a team, ensuring customer expectations are met or exceeded.
Key Tasks:
- Provide high-quality service on the front counter, handling customer queries and processing orders face to face.
- Answer inbound calls and serve both retail and trade customers with efficiency and accuracy.
- Build long-term rapport with local customers, ensuring their satisfaction and loyalty.
- Actively promote company offers and customer incentives to drive sales and customer satisfaction.
- Accurately pick and pack parts for delivery or collection, ensuring correct products are dispatched.
- Enter customer orders accurately into the MAM system.
- Process customer payments, both face to face and over the phone.
- Organise and process customer returns, ensuring items are collected or returned promptly.
Key Attributes:
- Strong communication skills, both face to face and over the phone, to build and maintain relationships with customers.
- High level of organisation and ability to adapt in a busy environment.
- Self-motivated with a positive, can-do attitude.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in processing orders and managing parts.
- Knowledge of motor vehicle parts is an advantage.
- Ability to use MAM software (training will be provided).
Qualifications/Experience:
- Previous experience in a similar environment or role is essential.
- Customer-focused with a commitment to delivering excellent customer service at all times.
- Experience with MAM Autoparts software is an advantage but not essential.
- A clean full UK driving licence is preferred, but not essential.
Working Hours:
- Monday to Friday: 08:00am to 5:30pm
- Every 1 in 2 Saturdays: 08:30am to 1:00pm
