Pastoral Support Worker

As a Pastoral Support Worker, you'll be a vital part of the school community in Witney, a close-knit town with deep roots and a spirit of resilience. Many of our students carry heavy burdens for such young shoulders. Difficult home lives and early challenges have impacted some of our youngest learners, leading to emotional difficulties and behaviors that require understanding, patience, and consistent support.

Your role will be to work 1:1 and in small groups with these Witney children, helping them to build trust, focus on learning, and feel seen and valued. You will be their safe space, someone who listens without judgment and guides with care. Through your support, they'll find stability and focus, helping them engage with school and unlock their potential.

£83.50 - £90 per day (term time)Key Responsibilities
  • Safeguarding: Being vigilant and proactive in ensuring each child's safety and well-being.
  • Emotional Support: Providing 1:1 attention and group work, helping students develop social and emotional skills.
  • Behavioral Management: Bringing a calm, structured approach to handling difficult behaviors with understanding and positive reinforcement.
  • Building Trust: Developing meaningful, dependable relationships with students to help them feel safe and valued within the school community.
