£83.50 - £90 per hour (term time only)
Join a dynamic and innovative team, the chosen MLD Support Assistant will play a key role in providing tailored support to young individuals with Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD) and behavioral challenges. This is a full-time opportunity, with working hours from 08:30 to 15:30, Monday - Friday. The position is set to start ASAP or can be delayed for the right candidate and may lead to a permanent role for the right candidate.
While having Team Teach Training is advantageous, it is not a requirement.
The primary school:
The MLD Support Assistant will be based onsite at your local Witney based primary school. in a beautiful location with lots of historic culture. No work from home or hybrid working can be offered due to the nature of the role.
Many of the KS1/KS2 students you will be supporting, on a split schedule to be discussed at the interview stage. They have MLD, involving Autism, Dyslexia, ADHD and other learning difficulties.
Requirements:
In order to offer the best educational support to the Witney children, it's ideal if the MLD Support Assistant has:
- Experience supporting KS1/KS2 students individually (1:1) and in small group settings.
- Knowledge and understanding of working with young people with complex needs (SEN/MLD).
- Proven experience in providing support to young people who have difficulty regulating their emotions.
- Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with both young people and staff.
- Patient and caring demeanor when engaging with Witney pupils.
Qualifications:
- Relevant SEN/Autism certifications/training (prefered)
- Team teach (prefered)
- NVQ 2 or 3 in childcare/children in the workforce (or similar)
- 3 years experience as a LSA/TA in a mainstream school or 1 year in a SEN provision supporting high level needs.
