Assistant Management Accountant - Live Entertainment - Woking

Premium international live entertainment business passionate about entertainment, audiences, and the live experience are looking for Part Qualified Management Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) studying towards these.

Responsibilities and duties include:

  • Prepare the monthly management accounts (full Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet and cashflow), variance & commentary
  • Prepare the monthly journals for the monthly imagine management accounts, including accruals and prepayments.
  • Maintaining the fixed asset register (including sets, costumes and special effects).
  • Prepare the monthly balance sheet reconciliations, including bank and all control accounts and reviewing the accruals and prepayments to make sure that these are released correctly in the correct months.
  • Assist the Production Management accountant with show reporting - to provide weekly cost reports to the senior management team.
  • Assist the Production Management Accountant with the preparation of the annual budgets and forecasts.
  • Assist with the year end Audit process for Imagine, responding to audit queries that come in via the EY client portal on a timely basis to deadlines.
  • Prepare the annual Theatre Tax Relief (TTR) calculation with back up, ready for submission to the accountants
  • Assist with any queries in preparing the annual statutory accounts.
  • Managing and developing a purchase ledger/payroll clerk
  • Assist the Production Management accountant with updating the financial processes to ensure a tight internal control environment and best practise to reduce financial risk.
  • Prepare the weekly 12 week cash report and liaise with the team to ensure that adequate funds are transferred to the bank account to cover all payments.
  • Regular liaison with all departments to ensure receipts, expenses and petty cash are being submitted regularly so that the accounts are up to date.
  • Assist the assistant accountant with monthly reconciliations of Monzo cards, credit cards and petty cash claims as needed (with more frequent reconciliation required during panto season).

Skills, Experience and Qualifications:

  • Part Qualified (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) and studying towards these
  • Production accounting experience highly desirable
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Experience with an accounting system ideally Sage X3 & HMRC payroll.
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Dynamic, enthusiastic, self-starter and willing to go the extra distance to make a difference.
