Sonic Summary

The position is for an Interim Closedown Accountant for a duration of 6 to 9 months in a hybrid role with a Local Government.
The successful candidate will lead the year-end closedown, manage statutory returns, and oversee audit processes.
Candidates should be CCAB/CIMA qualified or hold an equivalent qualification with extensive experience in Local Government Finance.
The role involves providing financial support to senior stakeholders and ensuring robust financial controls are maintained.

Interim Closedown Accountant | 6 months + | Hybrid | Local Government

Castlefield Recruitment are currently working in partnership with a Local Authority to recruit an Interim Closedown / Financial Accountant on an initial 6-9 month interim basis.

Duties;

Leading the year end closedown and statutory returns
Liaising with the S151 and the Senior Leadership team
Oversight of the internal and external audit processes related to the financial statements
Provide hands-on management of the Council's debt modelling activities
Supporting the medium-term financial planning (MTFS)
Providing financial support across to senior stakeholders across the organisation
Ensuring robust financial controls are in place and financial risk is understood

The person;

CCAB/CIMA qualified, or equivalent
Extensive experience within Local Government Finance
