Management Accountant - EntertainmentI am looking for an immediately available part or fully qualified Management Accountant to join one of my entertainment clients temporarily. This is an exciting opportunity for anyone who enjoys the entertainment world and working with a fun and experienced team.In this role you will jointly responsible for managing and developing the Assistant Management Accountants and Finance Admin Assistants, and will drive forward best practice in all processes, promoting team work to deliver first class financial guidance and support to their venues.KEY ACCOUNTABILITIESStrategic

  • Support the team structure to ensure results are delivered as quickly and accurately as possible, leading team members in continual process improvement.
  • Create and maintain close theatre relationships across all departments increasing learning in the finance department, which in turn will drive more accurate, relevant reporting.?
  • Review key tasks ensuring segregation of duties where appropriate.
  • Identify areas for improvement and encourage team initiatives to resolve issues and reduce areas of risk.
  • Regular liaison and building relationships across the business with key relationships with the rest of the Venues Finance team, Regional Directors and management teams.

Financial

  • Preparation of monthly management accounts (full Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet and cashflow), variance analysis & commentary, for initial review with Head of Finance before distribution to senior managers and theatre directors.
  • Taking direct ownership of the financial reporting of up to 3 venues, including building relationships with key stakeholders at each of these venues.
  • Consistent checking and reconciling of all balance sheet items to ensure that the balance sheets are kept clean - investigating and resolving any discrepancies and reconciling items. Prepare your own and review other team members' monthly balance sheet reconciliations.

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

  • A minimum of 2 years' experience working as a management accountant with management responsibilities. Ideally knowledge of or experience in the entertainment sector.
  • Qualified or part qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
  • Advanced Excel and IT skills. Experience with an accounting system ideally Sage X3.
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, committed and enthusiastic.
  • The ability to work calmly, effectively and professionally in a fast-paced environment.
  • Dynamic, enthusiastic, self-starter and willing to go the extra distance to make a difference.
  • Happy to undertake training, learning and development relevant to the job role.
  • An interest in and enthusiasm for live theatre, entertainment, and hospitality. This is an urgent fill so any applicant should be immediately available and happy to undertake temporary assignments.
