Part Qualified Accountant - About The Role

In this role you will be working within a finance team of 10 and will be reporting into the Finance Manager. You will be required to support with the end-to-end maintenance of overheads whilst also being a key player in identifying and driving transformation with the finance function. Furthermore, this role will include supporting the wider finance team and any training for new staff.

Your key responsibilities will be:

  • Prepare recharge accruals, ensuring proper coding before submission to the Finance Manager
  • Ownership of prepayments and accruals schedule and ensuring correct amounts have been released on a monthly basis
  • Lead and oversee the fixed asset register, ensuring ledger completeness and accuracy
  • Contribute to the month-end closing process, including journal postings, reconciliations and P&L commentary
  • Develop and optimise financial systems and processes to enhance departmental efficiency
  • Review overheads in P&L for consistent coding and proper approval
  • Lead month-end analysis of travel costs, explaining any variances against the budget

The successful Part Qualified Accountant will have/be:

  • Previous experience in a similar position
  • AAT qualified or actively studying ACCA/CIMA
  • Strong knowledge or systems and experience in improving processes
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Previous experience in a practice environment would be advantageous
