Accounts Assistant (Part-Time, 3 Days a Week)
Location: WokingSalary: £14.17 to £15.18 per hour Working Pattern: Part-Time (3 days per week)
Are you an experienced accounts assistant looking for a flexible part-time role? A long-standard and successful business in the Woking area is looking for a generalist accounts person to join their team - and can offer three full days per week or three shorter days if a later start and earlier finish is needed.
Reporting and liaising directly with the Managing Director, you'll be responsible for key aspects of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general accounts administration. This role requires a proactive individual who thrives on attention to detail and can effectively manage responsibilities across multiple entities.
Key Responsibilities
Accounts Payable & Receivable
- Process supplier invoices and reconcile against purchase orders.
- Resolve supplier queries, reconcile supplier statements, and manage payment disputes.
- Chase outstanding invoices and ensure timely customer payments.
- Complete monthly reconciliation, trial balances, and VAT returns.
- Conduct bank reconciliation, journal postings, and end-of-month processes.
General Accounts Administration
- Process credit card receipts and employee expenses, ensuring accuracy and reconciliation.
- Update customer pricing structures and account details.
- Maintain organised records, including filing and general accounts administration.
What We’re Looking For
Experience: Previous experience in an accounts assistant or similar role.
Technical Skills: Proficiency with ERP software and familiarity with VAT returns and reconciliation.
Attention to Detail: A meticulous approach to handling financial data and records.
Communication: Strong interpersonal and professional communication skills.
