Supplier Quality & Development Engineer
  • Location: Woking
  • Contract Length: 6 Months
  • Rate: 300 per day (PAYE) / 395 per day (Umbrella)

Key Responsibilities:

In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring supplier quality and development standards align with project targets and timelines. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams, overseeing supplier quality assurance, risk mitigation, and process improvements.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to foster productive working relationships and drive successful project outcomes.
  • Maintain a strong on-site presence at supplier locations to support activities, including trials and production builds.
  • Conduct Supplier/Part Risk Assessments and create mitigation strategies as necessary.
  • Report supplier progress to the Purchasing and Supplier Quality Assurance (SQA) Program teams, including updates on open issues, part quality (PPAP) pedigree, and delivery forecasts.
  • Track and ensure PPAP approvals are completed as per the delivery schedule.
  • Oversee the Non-PPAP part concession process to establish a "Plan for Every Part" strategy that supports the build phases.
  • Ensure Quality and Capacity Verification meets established targets and deliverables.
  • Lead resolution of major open issues, engaging Supplier Senior Management as needed to ensure swift and effective solutions.
  • Develop and implement improvement strategies with suppliers, ensuring quality, capacity, and risk management objectives are achieved.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Proficiency in PPAP, 8D Problem Solving, Supplier Quality Engineering practices, and Capacity Verification.
  • Strong experience within the automotive sector, with an emphasis on quality assurance and supplier management.
  • Background in extrusion and rubber manufacturing is highly desirable.
