We are recruiting for a reliable, responsible driver to take children from home to school, term time only. This will require morning and afternoon shifts, around 4 to 5 hours per day.

No previous experience is required as training and guidance will be given.

Duties include:

Carrying out daily checks on vehicles and other related equipment in order to ensure that the highest standards are maintained.

Maintaining the vehicle in a clean and tidy condition, internally and externally.
Carrying out duties with an appropriate demeanour.
Maintaining accurate vehicle log sheets.

Person specification, experience and qualifications

  • Hold a full, clean driving licence for a minimum of two years, Dl status is required
  • Have a flexible approach to work
  • Have a good knowledge of the Woking and surrounding areas
  • Live local to Woking, Surrey
  • People person
  • Have a cheerful disposition and a sense of humour
  • Have the desire to be part of a team which promote our service and achieve excellence for our users
  • Respect confidentiality, protect sensitive client information

Required by successful applicants: 

  • A medical examination will be required prior to driving passenger vehicles
  • You will be required to do a short on road driving assessment
  • References will be required
  • A enhanced DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service) will be required
  • Surrey County Council Driver badge (Blue Badge) will be required, applicable to SCC routes
  • You will be required to do Manual Handling, First Aid and Safeguarding training
  • Uniforms are provided by the Society
