An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Site Engineer to join a leading Highways contractor on a key infrastructure scheme near Guildford. This freelance position is ideal for a skilled professional looking to apply their expertise in civil engineering, particularly in s278 works, kerbing, and drainage.
THIS ASSIGNMENT IS PAYING OUTSIDE OF IR35.
Key Responsibilities:
路Oversee the day-to-day site operations, ensuring work is carried out safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
路Manage s278 works, including road alignments, junction improvements, and other highway alterations.
路Supervise kerbing and drainage installation, ensuring compliance with design specifications and standards.
路Conduct setting out and surveying activities, providing accurate measurements and levels.
路Collaborate with site teams, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure smooth project delivery.
路Maintain accurate site records, including progress reports, as-builts, and quality assurance documentation.
路Ensure all works are completed in accordance with health and safety regulations.
Qualifications and Experience:
路Proven experience as a Site Engineer, preferably within highways or infrastructure projects.
路Strong knowledge of s278 agreements, kerbing, and drainage works.
路Proficient in setting out using total stations, GPS, and other surveying equipment.
路CSCS card is essential; SMSTS/SSSTS, and NRSWA is desirable.
路Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
路Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
